NEW DELHI: Four burglars broke into an electronic showroom in Paschim Puri in west Delhi and stole electronic items worth around Rs 30 lakh in the early hours of Sunday. Police said the burglars entered the showroom after breaking the lock of the shutter.

The burglary was recorded on a CCTV camera installed inside the shop. The video footage shows a man holding a mobile phone torch with his mouth and stealing electronic items. His associates are standing outside the shop. The police are examining the footage to identify the suspect.

A senior police officer said the burglary took place between 1am and 2am when four men arrive outside Kartik Electronics in a Santro car. They break the lock of the shutter together and one of them enters the shop.

“Two of them kept a vigil outside the shop. The fourth stayed back in the car with the engine running,” said the officer.

The officer said the man who went inside the shop was seen piling up the electronic items near the entrance and passing these to his associates. After half an hour, the burglars load the stolen items in the car and sped away, he said.

The officer further said the burglary came to light around 3am when a neighbour saw the shutter of the showroom half open. He then called the owner, Deepak, who lives a few kilometres away in Paschim Vihar.

Deepak and his family immediately reached the shop and called the police control room. A police team arrived along with forensic experts and collected evidence from the crime scene. A case of burglary was registered and teams have been formed to solve the case.
