Tech Quest at Bal Bharati School, Dwarka

NEW DELHI: Bal Bharati Public School, Dwarka, organised their technology fest titled ‘Tech Quest’ with the aim in creating geniuses endowed with innovative skills and expertise in varied disciplines. The tech-savvy youth participated with synergy in various competitions like, Lights! Camera! Action, which was a kaleidoscope of ingenuity and aspiration that showcased the technical skills of the students while, ‘mobile app designing’ competition fuelled the competitiveness of the participants and was based on designing impressive mobile apps. The event culminated with prize distribution ceremony where the overall trophy was bagged by Indraprastha World School, Paschim Vihar.

Convent of Jesus and Mary, Bangla Sahib Marg, organised Sr. Dorothy’s trophy inter-school debate competition under the aegis of CJM and The Old Students’ Association. The debate was held in three stages in the modified Cambridge style format, where the participants debated for the coveted Sr. Dorothy’s Trophy. In the semi-final round Vasant Valley School, Vasant Kunj and St. Columba’s School, Ashok Place emerged as the finalists. The teams then debated on the topic ‘The death penalty must be abolished’ and were judged by Professor, Sunita Singh and Sharad Kohli, an eminent lawyer. The audience at the event appreciated the arguments posed by the debaters. At the end, Principal, Sr. Janet, awarded the rolling trophy to St. Columba’s School, Ashok Place.

St Georg e’s School, Alaknanda, organised a Science exhibition with an endeavour to promote the interest of the students in the subject. The event witnessed enthusiastic participants from the students of primary wing to showcase their scientific acumen. The exhibits presented were indeed an eye opener on the topics like, sense organs, food adulteration, food science and vegetative propagation. Principal, Dr. Sara George, appreciated the novel ideas of the students and the efforts of teachers in making the exhibition a grand success.

ASN Senior Secondary School, Mayur Vihar-1, celebrated National Sports Day with great zeal. The event was graced by the presence of the chief guest, Harpal Singh, an eminent hockey player. Also present at the event were Managing Director, Rajiv Nayan and Principal, Sonia Luthra. The highlight of the event was a skit by the students that showcased how a sports person becomes a winner and the journey of Indian sports winners in the Olympic Games in the past. The chief guest, while addressing the gathering said that “Medals are not made of gold and silver but they are made of sweat and hard work of the player. At the early age only, each child should decide one game and start practicing for it under the right coach.”
