Commuters faced heavy traffic in Connaught Place and New Delhi area as police closed Sansad Marg due to a Kissan Rally Thursday.
The Delhi Traffic Police posted an alert on Twitter cautioning commuters about the traffic situation and advising motorists to take alternate route.
Routes that were impacted due to this were Tolstoy Marg, KG Marg, C Hexagon, Janpath Road, Barakhamba Road and Le Meridian round about. Commuters had to take detours as the traffic was trailing.
“I was coming from New Delhi Railway Station and had to go to Lodhi Road. There was heavy traffic at Delhi Gate, Kasturba Gandhi Marg and Barakhamba road. It usually takes me 5-10 minutes from the station to KG Marg but it took me 30 minutes today to travel the same distance,” said Rahul, a commuter.
