Suspected militants assaulted three women and the driver of a vehicle after it was forcibly taken to an isolated place at Keithelmanbi along the Imphal-Dimpaur road (NH-2) in Senapati district, police said on Thursday.

The vehicle, transporting flowers to Imphal, was taken to an isolated place after the women reportedly objected to the monetary demands made, a police officer said.

Police later recovered the vehicle.
