The auction of plots of Punjab State Federation of Cooperative House Building Societies Limited (Housefed) here on Friday was stalled after residents of the colony created ruckus raising objection to the auction.

The auction of only three plots was held when residents started raising slogans demanding raising of infrastructure by the Housefed.

Some of them even went on to the stage raising slogans forcing officials to call the police. The officials had to cancel the auction process.

Chairman, Housefed, Gurmit Singh Mann, said that the auction was decided to be conducted after due permission and as per rules and residents unnecessarily created ruckus demanding raising of infrastructure by the federation, which is not liable for this now. He said that they would hold the auction again in the near future.
