Three boys drown in Talwara, bodies recovered from barrage

The bodies of three missing boys were fished out from Shah Nehar barrage on Tuesday. The boys had gone missing in Talwara on Monday.

The victims Kuldip, 11, Jatin, 11, and latter’s brother Suraj, 13, had gone out in the evening. After the trio did not return till late, their families informed the police.

A search operation was launched in the morning which ended with the recovery of the bodies. According to police the trio drowned while taking a dip.

“While we were searching Shah Nehar area, we found some clothes lying on the bank of canal.

As we explored further, we saw a body floating. With the help of local people, we fished out three bodies, one by one,” said Talwara assistant sub inspector Harminder Singh. After post-mortem, the bodies were handed over to the kin.

The deceased were students of a public high school and were from poor families.
