What replaces Bidaai?

Two shows in contention: Amar Prem and Gulaal. One of the shows will replace Bidaai in the 9 pm slot, tentatively from November 14.

It’s known that the three-year-old show Sapnaa Babul Ka Bidaai is expected to go off air after its last episode is telecasted on November 13 on Star Plus. Meanwhile, rumours are afloat regarding two big ticket shows on the channel, one of which will replace Bidaai in the 9 pm slot, tentatively from November 14.

The first one is Gulaal, produced by Balika Vadhu producer Sunjoy Wadhwa of Sphere Origin. The show toplines Rahil Azam and Manasi Parekh alongside theatre and character actor, Manoj Joshi. It’s currently being shot in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan and is said to have a Gujarati backdrop with Joshi playing a powerful character.

The other show is being produced by Shakuntalam Telefilms and is tentatively titled Amar Prem. Apparently, the show’s unit has completed its first 10-day outdoor schedule in Darjeeling and Sikkim. The slice-of-life show is known to topline Parvati Vaze, model Sampada Vaze’s sister opposite a debutant male lead. The daily is expected to run with a finite number of episodes and story.

When asked, Wadhwa refused to comment, pointing out, “I’m not supposed to talk about any developments right now. Please wait for the channel to make an official announcement.”

When asked, officials from Star Plus, say, “We cannot comment on this at this point. Nothing is confirmed about Sapnaa Babul Ka Bidaai being put off air. There will be an official communication if there are any changes.”
