Indian audience will get a chance to watch some amazing films from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa as part of the BRICS film festival in New Delhi from September 2-6.
As part of the special events planned in the run-up to the BRICS summit in October, 2016, this film festival aims at building bridges of friendship between the people of the member states, by showcasing art and culture, through films.
C Senthil Kumar, director, Directorate of Film Festivals, said, “1st BRICS Film Festival, being organized at the Siri Fort Auditorium, New Delhi, is focused on celebrating cinema by awarding the best of work from the film fraternity of all BRICS nations.”
The opening ceremony will include a gala entertainment show reflecting the culture of the member states and will be attended by senior ministers of all the five countries, eminent film personalities and jury members from India and other member states.
The closing ceremony will feature a film from China which will be the next host.
