Fresh quake tremors felt in MP too

Tremors of the fresh earthquake that hit Nepal and others countries on Tuesday were felt in several parts of Madhya Pradesh too, the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC)at Bhopal confirmed.

Tremors of the fresh earthquake that hit Nepal and others countries on Tuesday were felt in several parts of Madhya Pradesh too, the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) at Bhopal confirmed.

However no reports of damage emerged initially, official sources said.

Director of RMC, Anupam Kashyapi said tremors felt were result of the 7.1 magnitude earthquake in Nepal occuring at around 12.40pm.

The epicentre of the quake was 18km below ground level, according to the data recorded at RMC.

In Bhopal, people rushed out of homes and offices as tremors shook the high-rises.

Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, ministers and officials present at state secretariat Vallabh Bhavan also rushed.

A siren was sounded on the premises to alert them. The state cabinet meeting had just ended when the tremors were felt.

"I was in my cabin when I felt some movement. Meanwhile siren was sounded and I went out of the building as did most of my colleagues," minister of state for school education, Deepak Joshi said.

Tremors were reported from Gwalior, Shivpuri, Morena, Panna, Rewa, Sagar, Jabalpur, Chhatatpur, Damoh, Dindori, Mandla, Shahdol and many other areas.
