Police personnel not wearing helmet while driving a two-wheeler will face strict disciplinary action in Madhya Pradesh.

Police personnel not wearing helmet while driving a two-wheeler will face strict disciplinary action in Madhya Pradesh.

"Such policemen (violating helmet rule) will not only be penalised, but an adverse comment will also be made in their service record," according to a directive issued by director general of police (DGP) Surendra Sinh on Monday.

The circular stated that under the Motor Vehicles Act, it is mandatory to wear helmet and when policemen don't abide by it, this violates the act and also sends a wrong image to public.

All the officials and unit heads of MP police have been asked to ensure that the police personnel working in their units abide by the law and wear helmet while riding a two-wheeler.
