Akash Ambani Mangal Parv inside pics: Maroon 5 performs as newlyweds, Bollywood take to the dance floor

International pop band Maroon 5 led by singer Adam Levine performed at Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta’s wedding reception in Mumbai on Sunday.

The biggest international music icons including Beyonce and Adam Levine have made their presence felt in India in a short period of time. After Beyonce flew to Udaipur to perform at Isha Ambani’s wedding last year, Maroon 5 came to India to perform at Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta’s wedding reception in Mumbai on Sunday. The reception ‘Mangal Parv’ had a host of Bollywood celebrities in attendance including the Bachchans and the Kapoors and the pictures and videos from the lavish party hosted by Mukesh Ambani as part of his son’s wedding celebrations are already viral.

Three-time Grammy winner Maroon 5, led by Adam Levine, had the couple grooving to their romantic number, She Will Be Loved. A video of the couple dancing hand in hand has surfaced on the internet. While the bride was dressed in a beige gown for the event, the groom can be seen crooning the song for her in a black sherwani.

Another video of the band performing Girls Like You at the reception has also gone viral on the web.

Among the several Bollywood celebs who arrived at the Jio World Centre to attend the event were Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan, Kajol, Shahid Kapoor with wife Mira Rajput, rumoured couple Malaika Arora and Arjun Kapoor (though they arrived separately), Akshay Kumar with wife and writer Twinkle Khanna, Bareilly Ki Barfi actor Kriti Sanon, Mohenjo Daro actor Pooja Hegde, choreographer Farah Khan and many more. A picture of Kriti bonding with Dia Mirza, Riteish Deshmukh and Lara Dutta can also be found on their fanpages.

Earlier singers Falguni Pathak and Tushar Trivedi had kick-started the wedding celebrations by performing at the garba night hosted by the Ambanis in February. Later, many from the film fraternity had flown to Switzerland to attend the winter carnival hosted by Mukesh Ambani a few days before the wedding. International rock bands The Chainsmokers and Coldplay had performed live at the event in St Moritz. This was followed by lavish wedding on March 9 followed by a wedding reception on March 10.
