Akshay Kumar, among the first to start the ‘Fit India’ movement

As more and more Bollywood and sports celebrities take sports and I&B minister, Rajyavardhan Rathore’s #HumFitTohIndiaFit challenge, actor Akshay Kumar was the first to start the trend, with a ‘fit India’ movement almost two months ago.

Following Sports and Information & Broadcasting minister, Rajvavardhan Rathore’s campaign #HumFitTohIndiaFit, several Bollywood and sports celebrities have come forward and taken the fitness challenge by posting their photos and videos while working out, on social media.

As more and more names including the likes of Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff, Deepika Padukone, Virat Kohli, Geeta Phogat, Anushka Sharma, Baichung Bhutia among others are taking the challenge, actor Akshay Kumar was the first to start the trend, with a ‘Fit India’ movement almost two months ago, which also won him appreciation from the Prime Minister.

Akshay’s social media page has several videos where the actor can be seen working out and trying various forms of exercises with the hashtag #FitIndia. The videos show the actor swimming with weights, working out with a hoola hoop made of wooden beads and even playing volley ball at Juhu beach, Mumbai.

Recently, PM Modi acknowledged and appreciated Akshay’s efforts towards the Fit India campaign and said that the actor is a source of encouragement for today’s generation and that he inspires the youth with his physical activities, which promote a fit and healthy way of life.
