Blame me for the failure of Mr X: Mahesh Bhatt

Although there were reports of a fallout between filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and the distributor over the ­dismal performance of his latest release, Emraan Hashmi-starrer Mr X, Bhatt says he wouldn’t play the blame game.

, Bhatt says he wouldn’t play the blame game.

He posted on the ­microblogging website, Twitter, "I will not pass the buck to the marketing team..."and added, "BLAME ME: It is content & content alone which is responsible for a films failure . Mr X ­bombed at the box office because of my content (sic)."

The 3D sci-fi thriller was produced by Bhatt’s ­production house, which is co-owned by his brother, ­producer Mukesh Bhatt. It released in both 2D and 3D formats, mid-April.

In response, actor-turned-director Pooja Bhatt lauded her father’s candidness. "That is why you are you and the rest of the industry is well, them! Salutations Mr Bhatt! You make me proud yet again!" Pooja tweeted.
