Here’s how Anushka Sharma transformed into Mamta for Sui Dhaaga. Watch video

Anushka Sharma learnt to do embroidery from a professional to play her role in Sui Dhaaga.

Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma, who is all set to play the role of Varun Dhawan’s wife in Sui Dhaaga, learned embroidery by professionals for three months to perfect her character. She plays the role of Mamta, and Varun plays the role of Mauji in this film that is about a couple starting their own company that makes handmade garments.

While Varun took workshops and trained under a professional trailer to learn to use the sewing machine, Anushka Sharma took two months of training before the shooting of the film began. She learned to do embroidery from professionals to play her role. Anushka shared a video where she is seen learning to embroider. She captioned the video, “I’m always up for a challenge. Here’s my journey of becoming Mamta! #SuiDhaagaMadeInIndia​ @varundvn @yrf @suidhaagafilm #ManeeshSharma #SharatKatariya .”

Familiar with the basics of stitching, the Pari actor, mentioned that she was trained for the basics during her school days. This helped her look at ease in the film as well. The actor also said how even on the sets of the film she continued to do her embroidery and we see Anushka as Mamta getting to work on a piece of cloth too.

Sui Dhaga - Made In India is based on the stories of self-reliance and high spirits of the two central characters, Mamta and Mauji, rooted in an earthy town of India. The love story is slated to hit the screens on September 28 and is directed by Sharat Katariya. The film is produced by Yash Raj Films .

Anushka will also be seen in Shah Rukh Khan’s upoming film Zero, directed by Aanand L Raai and also starring Katrina Kaif.
