Here's why Bollywood queen Kangana Ranaut calls herself a star now

Kangana Ranaut says she couldn’t control her emotions when Queen (2014) was premiered in Paris, France. "I don’t cry under any circumstances. But this time, I was in tears. I can now call myself a star. Before this (premiere), I always felt like an actor," she adds.

She is known to be one of the toughest ladies in Bollywood. And yet, recently, a film's premiere in Paris made her cry! From making her acting debut in Bollywood at the age of 19, to becoming the highest paid female actor in the film industry — Kangana Ranaut has come a long way. However, her journey has not been bereft of struggles. These struggles, she says, have made her tough over the years. But last week, the 28-year-old couldn’t control her emotions during the premiere of her hit film, Queen (2014), in Paris, France.

The actor’s performance received a thunderous response from the international audience. The

Queen

premiere took place at Gaumont Opéra Premier, an auditorium that can seat over 750 people. "The venue was packed. After the screening, all you could hear were claps and whistles," says an insider. Kangana also reveals that she shares a "special connect" with Paris.

Kangana Ranaut

had first visited the city several years ago when her flight to New York, USA, had a layover in the French capital. She says that back then, she had thought that "if she ever gets to spend a few days in Paris, that will be great". "Maybe God heard my prayers. Queen was shot in Paris, and now this," she adds.



Kangana will next be seen in Imran Khan-starrer Katti Batti that hits theatres on September 18.
