I can now completely relate to all fathers: Shreyas Talpade

As actor Shreyas Talpade celebrates Father’s Day for the first time, he talks about fatherhood and how daughter, Aadya has changed life for him and Deepti

This year, Shreyas Talpade welcomed a baby girl via surrogacy. The actor wants to celebrate this year’s Father’s Day in such a way that his daughter cherishes it in the years to come. Shreyas says, “I am glad to be celebrating Father’s Day this year. Deepti and I will plan something so that when Aadya grows up and looks back at this day, she will realise the efforts I put in to make it special. I can now completely relate to all the dads in the world and most importantly, I now understand what my parents must have gone through while bringing me up.”

It’s been over a month since Aadya was born and Shreyas admits that the feeling has finally begun to sink in. “I was completely disoriented during the first week. But, now I have understood what fatherhood is. The more I try to make a routine the more it goes out of order. So, I have decided to go with the flow. Aadya teaches me something new everyday, and I am thoroughly enjoying the process.”

Shreyas adds that life has changed post the arrival of his daughter. So, who has Aadya taken after as far as her mannerisms are concerned? “Well, the way she sleeps is exactly like Deepti. Her attitude and temperament is just like Deepti too. The funny part is, habits of Deepti that would annoy me are completely okay to me when Aadya does it. So, it is true that every little girl has her father wrapped around her little finger,” he says.

He adds that he will be completely supportive of her career choices too, and would only be strict about one thing, “I will want to make sure that the environment she is working in be safe for her. I will be strict about that for sure.”
