Siddharth Shukla made a worthwhile debut with Shashank Khaitan’s Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania in 2014. After that, the actor didn’t sign a film because the offers weren’t good enough.
“I can’t take up every film that is being offered to me. Also, I can’t just sign a project because it’s offering good remuneration. There must be something substantial enough for me to work on the project. Right now there is nothing, but I have my eyes and ears open,” says Siddharth.
Ask him whether he is still in touch with his co-stars, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt from Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, and Siddharth answers in the affirmative. “It’s not that we catch up regularly but whenever we meet at various events or otherwise, we are cordial with each other. Both Varun and Alia are not just good actors but also wonderful human beings,” he adds.
Siddharth, who comes across a jovial person otherwise, loves to stay away from the media glare. The actor feels a lot of things that get reported aren’t true . “I don’t want to belittle anyone but I prefer staying away because I want to avoid hypothetical stories around me. I mean there’s something I have achieved in life, even if it’s little, and if people write about it, then it’s fine. But why cook up things? My work will speak for me. In fact, I never had a PR and I still don’t,” he signs off.
