Irrfan Khan is back with Nishikant Kamat, the director who gave him a groundbreaking film Mumbai Meri Jaan in 2008, and this time, the two have joined hands for Madaari. The new movie seems to be a political satire, as its tagline reads, ‘Desh so raha hai’ (The country is sleeping).

Earlier, there were rumours that Madaari is based on Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s meteoric rise in Indian politics. The makers have maintained a strict silence on this.

Kamat’s last film Rocky Handsome failed miserably at the box office, while Irrfan has become an international star in the meanwhile. Therefore, it will be interesting to see how Irrfan helps the director who showed faith in him when he still had not joined the big league.
