Mohenjo Daro cleared without cuts, including three kissing scenes

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) reportedly passed Ashutosh Gowarikar’s Mohenjo Daro without a single cut, which includes three steamy kissing scenes.

Hrithik Roshan and Pooja Hegde have three pasionate kissing scenes in Ashutosh Gowarikar’s Mohenjo Daro. However, that does not seem to have fettered the CBFC - the board has cleared the film without any cuts.

DNA, on Monday, reported that the CBFC had passed Mohenjo Daro without any cuts, this in spite of the movie’s lead actors -- Hrithik Roshan and Pooja Hegde -- locking lips in three passionate kisses.

Hindustan Times, though, could not independently verify the report.

The reported decision has surprised many in the industry for the board has in the past had issues with similar scenes, like with the last James Bond movie, Spectre. The board had kissing scenes cut from the film, leading to social media taking a swipe at it by dubbing the movie ‘Sanskaari Bond’.

Talking about her scene in Mohenjo Daro, debut actor Pooja said, “You always want it (kiss) to look good on screen as you can go wrong with stuff like that. I think we have got one of the best onscreen kisses in Mohenjo Daro.”

Co-written, co-produced and directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, the film is produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and Sunita A Gowariker.

Mohenjo Daro is set in the era of the Indus Valley civilisation, dating back to 2,600 BC. The film is slated to hit theatres on August 12.
