Parineeti Chopra has a ‘funny’ response to those Maneesh Sharma dating rumours
Rumours claim that Parineeti Chopra and her alleged ex-boyfriend, director Maneesh Sharma, are back together. But the actor laughs off the news.
Ever since she made her Bollywood debut with Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl (2011), Parineeti Chopra has regularly been linked with director Maneesh Sharma (who directed the actor in her first movie and in Shuddh Desi Romance; 2013). A few months back, reports claimed that Parineeti had gotten back with Maneesh, after the two had parted ways earlier. The actor says she has “heard about and read” these reports, and finds them “very funny”.
“I haven’t met Maneesh for over two-three months. I didn’t even know that he had gone on a holiday. We spoke on the phone sometime back, and he asked me, ‘Apparently, you have been coming to my cabin every day (at producer Aditya Chopra’s office) and meeting me. But mera kaunsa cabin hai (which cabin do I have)?’” she says.
Calling the reports “ridiculous”, Parineeti says they “really get out of hand sometimes”. She adds, “Maneesh and I have known each other for six years. And for six years, we have been saying the same thing — we are not dating. It’s too much, because my personal life gets affected by these things, which people don’t understand.”

Parineeti says she and Maneesh have “an understanding now”. “Such reports do affect our lives. There were some stories about Sushant (Singh Rajput) and me as well, but I have not met him in a year. The stories said that we met one night, and suddenly, his break up happened because of me. I was like, ‘Wow, I don’t even remember the last time I spoke to him.’ People around me were making fun of me, saying, ‘Why are these romantic stories being published about you?’ Because I don’t have a romantic life,” she says.
