Taimur, Roohi might want to be together in 20 years, don’t restrict them to ‘brother and sister’, says Karan Johar

Karan Johar is against restricting his daughter Roohi and Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s son, Taimur, to a sibling relationship. They might want to be together in 20 years, he said.

Karan Johar on his radio show has said that he wouldn’t mind if Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s son, Taimur, and his daughter, Roohi, want to be together 20 years from now.

Taimur Ali Khan and Karan Johar’s kids have frequent play dates.

Karan said that he finds it problematic that our society encourages children to call each other ‘bhaiya’ (brother) and ‘didi’ (sister) when we shouldn’t be restricting their relationships. “Yehi problem hai humare desh mein. Jab ladka ladki ek saath hote hai toh immediately bolte hai ‘bhaiyya bolo’, ‘didi bolo’... Arre, bilkul nahi yaar, (This is the problem with our country. When we see a boy and a girl together, we immediately tell them to call each other ‘brother’ and ‘sister’. This should never happen),” he said.

Taimur and Roohi (and her twin brother Yash) are paparazzi favourites, with their pictures being shared far and wide on an almost daily basis. They’ll probably have many more play dates in the future when Karan directs Kareena in his upcoming film, the political drama Takht. The period film also stars Ranveer Singh, Janhvi Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar and Anil Kapoor.
