After the success of Parmanu, filmmaker Abhishek Sharma is concentrating on his next film — a rom-com based on author Anuja Chauhan’s The Zoya Factor. Currently in pre-production stage, the film will hit theatres in April next year. Abhishek has good things to say not only about the story, but also the actors in the film, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Dulquer Salmaan.

“It’s a high-octane, feel-good drama. And, I am hoping the audience would enjoy watching it. As far as Sonam and Dulquer are concerned, they both are both hard working and versatile actors. I remember how actively they participated in the reading and rehearsal sessions. What I also like about this casting is that they have this different body of work and have done well in their respective careers. They are chilled out people… So, it’s going to be a very fun, young and energetic film,” says Abhishek, who had earlier helmed films such as Tere Bin Laden (2010), The Shaukeens (2014) and Tere Bin Laden: Dead or Alive (2016).

However, he feels both Sonam and Dulquer have big shoes to fill in. While Sonam is the daughter of actor Anil Kapoor, Dulquer is the son of actor Mammootty, a renowned name in Malayalam cinema.

The director shares that his interaction with both the famous fathers has been wonderful. “I know AK (Anil Kapoor) quite well, and it’s amazing the way he has maintained himself. His energy is infectious. I also bumped into Mammootty sir once or twice. I wish I could also work with them. The kind of work they have done is like an inspiration,” he adds.
