Badrinath Ki Dulhania actor Varun Dhawan chose to stay mum over actor Govinda’s recent unflattering remarks on him and his filmmaker father David Dhawan.
At the song launch of Tamma Tamma Again, when asked about Govinda’s statements on his father in an interview, where Govinda also slammed comparisons between himself and Varun, the young actor simply said, “I have not heard it.”
When the journalist asked him, “Should I tell you Govinda’s remarks,” Varun interrupted her and said, “I can’t hear anything.”
Govinda and David, who have been among the most successful actor-director jodis in Bollywood, are no more on good terms. In his recent interview, Govinda had said that the filmmaker did not stand by him when he was going through a bad phase and did not take him in any of his upcoming films despite Govinda requesting him several times.
Interestingly, Varun, known for his comic timing and dance moves, has time and again been called the new-age Govinda. But the senior actor has said that the comparison between him and Varun is ‘fake’. Govinda had even said that Varun can never be like him.
David and Govinda worked together in 17 movies including Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Raja Babu, Coolie No 1, Hero No 1 and Haseena Maan Jaayegi among others.
Govinda’s next Aa Gaya Hero is slated to release on March 3.
