Dangal star Zaira Wasim, who impressed one and all with her performance in Secret Superstar, has bagged a major Bollywood project where she will be seen alongside Priyanka Chopra and Abhishek Bachchan, according to reports.

A Mumbai Mirror report claimed Friday that Zaira has been finalised for Shonali Bose’s next directorial that is inspired by the true-life story of Aisha Chaudhary. She will essay the role of Aisha in the film, it added.

The tabloid quoted a source as saying, “Zaira really liked the script and has given her nod to the project. Shonali is currently busy with the pre-production and is hoping to start shooting by the middle of this year in Mumbai. Priyanka and Abhishek will play parents to Zaira’s character.”

Aisha was born with an immune deficiency disorder and has inspired several people despite her own struggles and illnesses. She has also written a book, My Little Epiphanies. She was named an INK Fellow and was also a speaker at TEDx Pune in 2013. She died at the age of 18 in 2015.
