Ather Rizta crosses 2 lakh sales, becomes brand’s fastest growing scooter yet
Ather Rizta crosses 2 lakh sales in record time, boosting the brand’s market share in key states and driving retail expansion across India with strong demand.

Ather Energy has announced a major sales milestone for its family-oriented electric scooter, the Rizta, which has now crossed the two lakh unit mark. The achievement comes just six months after the scooter reached its first lakh sales in May 2025, highlighting its rapid rise in popularity across the country.

Launched in April 2024, the Rizta has become instrumental in expanding Ather’s presence beyond its earlier southern strongholds. Newer markets have shown strong traction, aided by the addition of fresh colour options like Terracotta Red and the introduction of the Rizta S variant with a 3.7 kWh battery. These updates have helped accelerate demand, with the model now contributing more than 70 per cent of Ather’s total sales. Before this, the brand was only selling the 450, which is aimed towards enthusiasts.

The scooter has played an important role in Ather’s Middle India strategy as well. The company has nearly doubled its market share in states such as Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, rising from 7 per cent in Q1 FY26 to 14 per cent in Q3 FY26 till November 2025. Punjab has grown from 8 per cent to 15 per cent in the same period, while Uttar Pradesh has seen its share increase from 4 per cent to 10 per cent.
Riding on the Rizta’s momentum, Ather recently crossed five lakh electric scooter sales in India, as per Vahan and Telangana Vehicle Online Sales data. The brand has also expanded its retail footprint aggressively since Rizta’s debut, reaching 524 Experience Centres across the country by September 30, 2025.
Commenting on the milestone, Ravneet Singh Phokela, Chief Business Officer, Ather Energy, said Rizta’s strong performance has allowed the company to widen its consumer base and scale its network faster. He added that Ather will continue to focus on improving accessibility and deepening its distribution reach in the coming months.
The Rizta is offered in two variants, S and Z, with IDC ranges of 123 km and 159 km. It features a spacious 56 litre storage capacity split between a 34 litre under-seat storage and an optional 22 litre frunk, along with a roomy floorboard for added comfort. Safety and convenience features include SkidControl, Fall Safe, Emergency Stop Signal, theft and tow alerts, and Ping My Scooter when equipped with AtherStack Pro. Earlier this year, at Ather Community Day 2025, the company also confirmed a significant upgrade for the Rizta Z with the addition of touchscreen functionality which was enabled via an OTA update.
