17,000 students took class 10 maths board exam today

The Class 10 board exam will begin today with mathematics. More than 17,000 students from Chandigarh, are enrolled for the exams.This year, 12,407 students will appear for the board-based exam.

The Class 10 board exam will begin today with mathematics. More than 17,000 students from Chandigarh, are enrolled for the exams.

This year, 12,407 students will appear for the board-based exam, while 5,051 students have opted to take the school-based examinations.

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) regional director RJ Khanderao said all the precautions had been taken and students were advised to fully focus on exams now.

Savleen, a candidate, said she was a bit tensed but hoped to do well as she had prepared well. After mathematics, the students will sit for Hindi paper on March 5. English communication paper will be held on March 7, while on March 8, music and typewriting examinations will be held.

The science paper will be conducted on March 10. The Punjabi paper will be held on March 12, followed by social sciences on March 14.

Optional language paper for Arabic, French, German, Persian, Nepali, Japanese, Urdu and other south Indian languages will be conducted on March 15.

Meanwhile, the Class 12 students of humanities will appear for history paper today while the science stream students will appear for physics on March 5. The commerce students will sit for business studies paper on March 6.
