Yog Joy’s photographs to be on display from today

Few masters of photography have earned widespread appreciation from art connoisseurs in the region as has the late Yog Joy who continues to live in his immortal works, which still inspire the current generation.

As a tribute to his incredible contribution to the art an exhibition of fifteen photographic spectacles by the most admired photographer in north India will be on display at the Oregano at Hotel JW Marriott on August 9 and 10.

Aptly titled ‘A Photographic Retrospective by Yog Joy’, the exhibition, part of the Soulful Saturday series, organised by the hotel management is indeed a witness to the artist’s genius.

A leading photographer of his times, Joy cut through the intricacies of art and daily reportage to capture life in its varied forms. In the words of noted Indian writer Mulk Raj Anand, “Yog Joy was one of the few photographers of the decisive moment.”

The exhibition of 15 images - black and white as well as colour - that have been culled from the family’s personal archives and been curated by his son Vikram Joy, an accomplished photographer himself.
