81-year-old Bengaluru woman's tweet on loud music gets noticed, Twitter responds

The 81-year-old woman has complained many times about the "loud music" from the pub.

An 81-year-old Bengaluru woman's social media post has garnered attention after she said she had filed a complaint against loud music from a pub . The resident of BTM Layout also claimed that she has been complaining about the nuisance but no action has been taken.

The woman, Lalitha Srinivasan, wrote in a tweet: “I'm 81. AvonPub in BTM 2stg plays very loud music till 3:30am everynight. Do we have to raise a complaint to the police every night? This is pure harassment for us residents. Anyone listening to us seniors? (Sic)”

The elderly citizen also said that even a written complaint was given "but no action has been taken by the police". “Having brought this to police notice with a written complaint since Jan 2021 , yet no action taken against this pub. Stop this harassment. Who owns this Avon Pub in BTM 2ns Stg?(Sic)” added the resident.

The cops have now assured an action against the pub and even the office of Jayanagar MLA Soumya Reddy has responded to the incident. Quoting her office, the Sowmya Reddy’s handle posted: “Maam, kindly DM your number. - office of MLA(Sic)”

The residents of places - like Indiranagar, Koramangala and BTM Layout - have been complaining about the hustle and bustle in their surroundings due to rampant commercialisation. A user wrote: “Sadly, Bangalore is a commercial place and significance is for revenue generating businesses only. I never saw politicians worried about citizens for any matter.(Sic)”
