Bengaluru Police have arrested Nikita Singhania, the wife Atul Subash who died by suicide, along with her mother, Visha Singhania, and brother, Anurag Singhania, in connection with an abetment of suicide case. They were picked up from Gurugram and Prayagraj respectively and have been produced in the court. The accused are currently in a judicial custody.
According to Bengaluru Police, the wife of Subash, Nikita Singhania is A1 in the case whereas her mother Visha Singhania and brother Anurag Singhania were named as A2 and A3 in the case. All three were arrested on Saturday morning and brought to Bengaluru.

A team of Bengaluru Police on Friday reached Uttar Pradesh’s Jaunpur, the native of the accused to investigate the case. The accused have already sought for an anticipatory bail, asserting their innocence in connection with Subash’s suicide, which created a national outrage. Bengaluru Police booked an FIR, involving the wife and her family members in the case.
The police investigation revealed that Subhash was involved in a contentious legal battle over divorce and child custody, which he claimed contributed to his emotional distress. Singhania and her family members had demanded ₹3 crore to withdraw cases against Subhash and ₹30 lakh for visitation rights to see his son. This led Subash into a mental distress and he decided to end his life.

On December 9, Atul Subash was found hanging in his apartment with a suicide note and a video alleging his wife Nikita Singhania of continuous harassment and demanding a hefty amount in the name of alimony. Subash reportedly emailed his death note to several individuals and shared it in a WhatsApp group of an NGO he was associated with. He also hung a placard in his home that read, “Justice is due.”
Bengaluru Police formed into two teams and started probing into the case. They gathered all the evidences before the arrest and even served notices to Singhanias to attend the investigation in Bengaluru.
