Bengaluru to face power cuts till Wednesday; Check areas here

Bengaluru city is set to face power cuts on Tuesday and Wednesday this week as the KTPCL - the sole electricity distributor of Karnataka - will be working on some quarterly maintenance projects.

Many areas in Bengaluru might face power cuts on Tuesday and Wednesday this week as the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KTPCL) will be carrying out several maintenance works, data uploaded onto the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company's (BESCOM) website indicated.

States such as Maharashtra and West Bengal have had to resort to power cuts. (HT PHOTO)

These works may include periodical maintenance works projects for the third quarter and others. Most of these will be carried out between 10 am and 4 pm, resulting in around six-hour power outages. However, some works may take longer until 5 pm or 6 pm.

The BESCOM schedules maintenance and repair projects frequently in the Karnataka capital, along with other works such as gap linking, tree trimming, maintenance of transformers, conductors, pipe laying, and Jalasiri water supply work. Here is a day-by-day list of areas that might see power cuts:

BESCOM Division - Tiptur

Areas affected: Hunseghatta, Suguru, Mathsghatta and Ganganghtta.

KTPCL Circle - BMAZ South, BRAZ, BMAZ South

KTPCL Division - Doddaballapura, Somanahalli

BESCOM Circle - East, BRC Kengeri, South

BESCOM Division - Indiranagar, Shivajinagar, Nelamangala, Kengeri

Areas affected: Gundamgere, Hosahalli, Sasalu and surrounding areas. No other load will be affected as 220 kilovolts (KV) KIADB R/S will be fed from Gowribidanur and Devanahalli H/W park, BESCOM added.
