Chandigarh: Bapu Dham Chowki incharge, ASI caught taking bribe by CBI

A Bapu Dham Colony resident had complained to the CBI that the two sought a bribe from him because he was accused in a cheating case registered under the Sector 26 police station area

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested the Chowki incharge of Bapu Dham Colony in Sector 26 and an assistant sub inspector posted there for accepting a bribe of ₹2.5 lakh in a trap laid on Monday evening.

While official details from the CBI are awaited, sub inspector Suresh Kumar, who is incharge of the BDC Chowki and ASI Bhagat Singh were caught taking a bribe.  (HT File)

CBI laid a trap on Monday and caught the two red-handed. The duo were arrested and will be produced in court on Tuesday.
