Crime branch, Jammu, on Saturday filed a chargesheet against an accused for allegedly encroaching upon more than two-and-a-half kanals of state land in Rajouri district four years ago, an official said.
The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) filed the chargesheet against Yash Paul, a resident of Bhajwal village, in the Sunderbani court of judicial magistrate first class in the 2022 state land encroachment case, a spokesperson of the crime branch said.
He said the case was registered at the crime branch (EOW) police station on a complaint lodged by Acharya Rajesh Kumar Prashar, alleging that Paul, in connivance with some revenue and forest officials, encroached on the state land
In another case, the crime branch Jammu registered an FIR in connection with an alleged overseas visa and employment fraud involving multiple accused persons, the official said.
The case stems from a joint written complaint filed by several residents of Doda district.
They alleged that Bilal Ahmad, a resident of Kishtwar’s Dachhan area currently based in Dubai, induced them with promises of arranging visas and employment in Dubai, the official said.
Acting on these assurances, the complainants transferred substantial sums of money into the bank accounts of different individuals as instructed by the accused.

{{/usCountry}}During the preliminary enquiry, it surfaced that the funds were routed through the bank accounts of Yasir Arfat, Ashiq Hussain, and Moin Khan, who allegedly acted in coordination with the main accused, the spokesperson said.
He said the evidence prima facie indicated a well-planned criminal conspiracy involving multiple people to cheat innocent job aspirants under the guise of providing overseas employment.
