LIP councillor joins AAP in Ludhiana
Bitta joined the AAP in the presence of Atam Nagar MLA Kulwant Singh Sidhu and party general secretary Harchand Singh Burst
Lok Insaaf Party (LIP) councillor Kuldeep Singh Bitta from Atam Nagar constituency of Ludhiana, along with his colleagues, joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). With LIP chief Simarjit Singh Bains in jail facing rape charges, the party is in total disarray.

Bitta’s jumping ship is the second successive blow to LIP in the past 15 days. Earlier, LIP Punjab spokesperson and youth wing president, Gagandeep Singh alias Sunny Kainth, who had unsuccessfully fought assembly election from Gill constituency, had left the party and joined the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP).
Bitta joined the party in the presence of Atam Nagar MLA Kulwant Singh Sidhu and party general secretary Harchand Singh Burst.
Speaking on the occasion, Bitta praised AAP government and said “AAP is continuously working for the welfare of the state. Due to the anti-corruption policy of the party, the corrupt officers are living in fear,” he added.
“Soon after coming to power, AAP began its public welfare policies including free electricity, mohalla clinics and employment opportunities,” he added.
AAP, Congress and Akali workers joined BJP
In Shimlapuri’s Ward 36, several workers from Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), Congress and the AAP, joined the BJP in the presence of Punjab BJP general secretary Jeevan Gupta, spokesperson Gurdeep Gosha and new district BJP president Rajnish Dhiman.
Dhiman said the SAD, Congress and AAP workers joined BJP due to pro-poor policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Among the leaders who joined the BJP are Aman Saini, Gurdeep Singh, Harpal Singh, Jagdeep Singh, Satwant Singh, Sant Joga Singh, Satwinder Walia, Guri Handa, Sunny Handa, Rampal Saini, Amarnath Saini, Mandeep Mohit Saini, Rajesh Kumar and others.
