Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday said the Nangal Chaudhary region in southern Haryana is set to emerge as one of the country’s major economic capitals, with the commissioning of rail connectivity to the Integrated Multi-Modal Logistics Hub (IMLH) expected to provide a major boost to industry, trade, and employment.
Interacting with mediapersons and later with industrialists and investors after the inauguration ceremony, Saini said the flagging off of the freight train was not merely the launch of a rail facility but the beginning of a “new economic momentum” for Haryana.
He said the project was rooted in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047, while former chief minister Manohar Lal had laid its foundation. Under Modi’s guidance and monitoring, the logistics hub would become a milestone in Haryana’s economic development, he said.
Saini said Haryana would no longer remain merely a producer of goods but would develop into a major hub for connecting products from the state with domestic and international markets. The project would particularly benefit Mahendragarh, Rewari and adjoining areas by enabling agricultural produce, industrial goods and merchandise to reach the Mumbai port and global markets more efficiently.

{{/usCountry}}The IMLH is being developed in two phases over 886 acres, with the first phase covering 408 acres already completed. The facility has been equipped with systems for freight movement, storage, loading and unloading, and rapid dispatch of goods, which the government expects will reduce logistics costs and transit time for industries.
Saini said several major private-sector investors had shown interest in the project and called upon entrepreneurs to participate in tenders being invited under the public-private partnership (PPP) model. The hub, he said, would create large-scale employment opportunities for local youth while opening new avenues for traders and entrepreneurs.
Highlighting Haryana’s infrastructure expansion, Saini said travel between Chandigarh and Nangal Chaudhary, which took around 10 hours before 2014, had become considerably faster following the construction of modern expressways. He said every district of Haryana was now connected through four-lane highways and green corridors.
Taking a swipe at the Opposition, Saini said people would no longer be misled by “false claims and deceptive narratives”, asserting that Haryana and the country were progressing under Modi’s leadership.
Industries and commerce minister Rao Narbir Singh, Narnaul MLA Om Parkash Yadav, and Mahendragarh MLA Kanwar Singh Yadav were also present on the occasion.
Equality, dignity key to social harmony, says Saini
Addressing a Samrasta Sammelan and Pratibha Samman Samaroh organised by the Meghwal Utthan Samiti in Bawal in Rewari district on Sunday, the chief minister said social harmony did not mean erasing individual identities but respecting every identity while strengthening unity.
He said the state government was pursuing the principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas” and the goal of Antyodaya to ensure that development benefits reached the most deprived sections.
Saini invoked the teachings of Guru Ravidas, Jyotiba Phule, Savitribai Phule, and BR Ambedkar, saying their approaches may have differed but their common objective was to promote education, dignity, equality, and opportunities for all.
The chief minister said the government was making efforts to ensure that financial constraints did not prevent talented students from pursuing their aspirations.
Saini accepted all 10 demands of the Meghwal Utthan Samiti and said they would be forwarded to the concerned departments for necessary action. On the demand for dharamshalas in Rewari and Bawal, he said land would be made available according to rules once locations were identified. He also announced a ₹31 lakh grant for the organisation.
He said the government aimed to establish libraries in every panchayat. Around 1,000 libraries have already been opened, and the initiative would be expanded to villages across the state.
Saini also honoured 411 young achievers from the Meghwal community for accomplishments in education, medicine, engineering, sports, and other fields.
