The Delhi Customs Clearance Facilitation Committee (CCFC) on Wednesday discussed ways to implement the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) policy and digital initiatives to ensure ease of doing business in the national Capital.
The policy is the framework set by India’s CBIC for managing, formulating, and implementing indirect taxes like GST, customs, and excise.
Addressing the gathering at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport with different stakeholders, the chief commissioner of Delhi Customs zone Manish Kumar highlighted operational challenges for implementation of CBIC’s initiatives and discussed possible solutions to ensure smooth functioning of trade.
“During the deliberations, recent policy and digital initiatives introduced by the CBIC were highlighted, with particular focus on their implementation framework within the Delhi customs zone,” said a CCFC official.
“The Delhi customs zone reaffirmed its commitment to promoting ease of doing business and advancing trade facilitation within the framework of law with guiding principles of transparency, accessibility, and efficiency,” the official added.
The meeting witnessed participation from stakeholders such as the FSSAI, Plant Quarantine, the Drug Controller and ASSOCHAM.
