The committee, which has been formed to review the fees charged by private medical and dental colleges, have received details from colleges regarding facilities provided to students, both infrastructure- and academic-wise. A decision on the fee hike will be taken on the basis of these details.

“Colleges have submitted details regarding teaching and clerical staff, libraries, hostels, and extra-curricular activities offered to students. The same will be reviewed by the committee and a decision on change in the fee structure will be taken,” said a senior official of the medical education department.

The committee has additional chief secretary of medical education as its president, with additional chief secretary-finance, who’s nominated by the state government, as its member and director general of medical education as its secretary. The fee revision is being done after 2021.
