A restaurant owner suffered severe injuries after a banned plastic kite string got entangled around his hands and head, in Jagraon on Sunday evening. He sustained 45 stitches on his forehead and 11 on his hands. The man was returning home by a scooter when the incident took place.

The victim, Ravideep Singh, 45, of Kothe Pauna village said he was wearing a muffler around his neck otherwise the string would have slit his throat.
He said while returning home when he reached near Akhara village, a plastic kite string entangled around his face. He tried to free himself, but the string started slitting his forehead and injured his fingers after which he fell on the road. Locals rushed him to the hospital.
