Man parks neighbour’s car on railway track, train crushes vehicle in Hathras

Superintendent of police Chiranjeev Nath Sinha said the act endangered the lives of train passengers. A case was registered under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Railway Act.

: A man allegedly parked his neighbour’s car on a railway track in Hathras following a dispute over loud music and honking, leading to the vehicle being crushed by a train on Sunday night.

Police said the incident took place in Mursan town when the accused and his associates allegedly stopped complainant Ratan Prasad and assaulted him and his wife before snatching the car.

The accused then parked the vehicle on the railway track, where it was hit by the Agra Fort–Ramnagar Express. The train remained halted for around 40 minutes after the damaged car got stuck in the engine.

Deputy superintendent of police JN Asthana said one accused, Shantanu Kaushik alias David, had been arrested, while search operations were underway to trace the others named in the FIR.
