Kumbla police arrested Kubanoor native Hasan Asif and his relative Muhammad Siraj , a native of Mogral.

According to police, the incident took place on August 16 when the 64-year-old complainant, a resident of Muttam Bangara in Mangalpady village, was invited by a woman, Riswana, to her house in Kubanoor on the pretext of returning 5,000 she had borrowed from him.

Upon his arrival at around 7.30 pm, Asif, allegedly acting in collusion with Riswana, forcibly took him to a bedroom, police said.

Siraj allegedly recorded photographs and videos of the complainant on a mobile phone.

The accused allegedly seized the complainant's mobile phone, 1,500 in cash and his car keys. They then opened his vehicle parked outside and allegedly took another mobile phone valued at 25,000, along with ATM cards, according to the FIR.

On August 17, Asif allegedly visited the complainant's shop, intimidated him and extorted an additional 5,000.

Police said Asif allegedly demanded 20 lakh, threatening to circulate the photographs and videos on social media.

The complainant reported the matter to police on Saturday, citing delays caused by continuous threats from the accused.

Police said they were probing the role of Riswana, who is being questioned as part of the investigation.

A case has been registered against Riswana, Asif and Siraj under Sections 126 , 308 , 310 , 351 and 3 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita .
