Two sisters found unconscious in Bharatpur after alleged assault

Bharatpur: Two sisters were found unconscious on the roadside in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur after allegedly being attacked and assaulted by unidentified men, police said on Friday.

Locals, who found the 17-year-old and 18-year-old unconscious on the road, took them to Raj Bahadur Memorial Hospital and informed the police.

“Police received information that two sisters were admitted to the hospital after being found unconscious,” additional superintendent of police Shankar Lal said.

According to police officers, the two school students, who are currently preparing for competitive exams, go to a coaching centre in Bharatpur city daily on a motorcycle from their village and return in the evening.

“They alleged that after returning from the coaching centre, they had gone out for an evening walk when some men turned up in a car and started assaulting them,” an officer said.

The girls alleged that when they opposed the men assaulting them, they were attacked with iron rods.

“When my sister tried to call our parents, they snatched her phone. They have been harassing us for ten days. I can identify them if they come before me,” one of the sisters said.

The police have recorded the statements of the girls and are investigating the matter.
