Altogether, 16,10,657 students, of them 7.90 lakh boys and 8.19 lakh girls, appeared in the matric exam at 1,500 examination centres held from February 14 to 22 across the state.

Of the total examinees, 4.74 lakh students secured first division, 5.11 lakh students second division, while 2.99 lakh students third division.

BSEB’s chairman Anand Kishor said, “We have published the board results before any other education board in the country for the fifth time in a row. The advanced technology has helped to bring reform in the examination system. Pre-printed litho code and barcode on OMR sheets helps in fast scanning and computerised evaluation. We have evaluated around 94 lakh OMR sheets and declared the results within 31 days. The board has also allotted Unique ID to each student as a special identification number. We have developed customised format and software for fast processing of results.”

Second rank holders will get 75,000, 1 laptop and one Kindle e-book reader.

Third rank holders will be given 50,000, one laptop and kindle ebook.

All the other rank holders — from fourth to 10th — will be awarded 10,000, one laptop and one kindle.
