Faulty coach delays Ernakulam–Pune Express by nearly 3 hours

Ernakulam–Pune Express (Train No. 22149) was delayed by nearly three hours at Panvel railway station on Wednesday after a technical fault was detected in its B1 coach. The coach was detached, and passengers were shifted to other coaches before the train resumed its journey to Pune.

Hemant Kumar Behera, spokesperson, Pune Railway Division, said, “A broken control arm was detected in the coach during inspection at Panvel.”

According to Central Railway, the train arrived at platform number 5 around 6.30 am, where a routine inspection detected the fault, classified as a carriage and wagon (C&W) failure.

Krishna Pandey, a passenger, said, “There was some confusion initially, but the railway staff kept informing us about the technical issue.”
