With Sunday (January 11) being the last day before the election, political parties stepped up their campaign across the city, planning rallies, roadshows, and door-to-door outreach to reach maximum voters.
Pradeep Deshmukh, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader, said it was natural for campaigning to peak on the final Sunday. “As this is the last Sunday for campaigning, all candidates are carrying out intensive outreach at both the individual and party levels. Roadshows and rallies have been planned in different areas,” he said.
Madhuri Misal, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, said the party has been conducting extensive campaigning across the city. “Candidates are campaigning in their respective areas, and the party is providing full support. Roadshows as well as door-to-door campaigns will be carried out on Sunday,” she said.
Shrikant Patil, NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) leader, said the party’s candidates have focused on holding rallies in their constituencies and visiting housing societies to connect with voters.
Congress leader Arvind Shinde said, “Senior leader Balasaheb Thorat is visiting various parts of the city and will address public rallies, while party candidates will conduct outreach programmes in their respective areas.”
