A group of four people stabbed an 18-year-old youth and his friend while they were at Taljai Pathar on Sunday night, according to police.

According to police, the victim Harshad Khilare, a resident of Gultekdi was out along with his friend Atish Patole on Sunday evening. At around 4:30 pm, they were taking selfies when a group of four people approached them and got into a violent altercation over a trivial issue. Later they beat him up and stabbed him with a sharp knife. When Patole intervened, they stabbed him as well.

Assistant police inspector Rahul Khandale at Sahakar Nagar police station said, ‘’Accused alleged that Khilare abused their friend hence to settle scores they stabbed him. In this incident, both Khilare and his friend were injured and shifted to the hospital for further treatment.’’

A case has been registered at Sahakarnagar police station under sections 307 (attempt to murder) 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
