UNESCO chair on gender inclusion to be launched at SSPU

Union minister Jayant Chaudhary will inaugurate a UNESCO chair on gender inclusion and skill development at SSPU on April 24, focusing on enhancing women's workforce participation.

Pune: Jayant Chaudhary, Union minister of state for skill development and entrepreneurship and minister of state for education, will inaugurate the UNESCO chair on gender inclusion and skill development at Symbiosis Skills and Professional University’s (SSPU) Kiwale campus on April 24.

The chair aims to function as a global knowledge hub and centre of excellence focused on strengthening skill ecosystems, enhancing employability, and increasing women’s participation in the workforce.

The conference will bring together policymakers, international experts, and industry leaders to discuss the role of skill development in enabling women to enter emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence, semiconductor technology, and defence technology.
