Like father Sachin Tendulkar, his son made an early mark as he dismissed Sri Lanka U-19 team’s opener, Kamil Mishara, trapping the left-handed batsman leg before for nine runs. Mishara had hit Arjun, a left-arm pacer, for two fours but the youngster had his revenge.
India U-19 bowlers Harish Tyagi and Ayush Badani took over from there, claiming four wickets each as Sri Lanka U-19 were all out for 244. India U-19 were 92/1 in reply.
Arjun Tendulkar, who opened the bowling, sent down a tidy opening spell of 5-1-18-1 before sending down another six overs, returning figures of 11-2-33-1. The youngster has shown steady improvement and has also not missed a chance he has got to bowl in the senior India team nets.

Vinod Kambli, who is a close friend of his father Sachin Tendulkar, took to Twitter to praise the youngster on his debut wicket and wrote - “Tears of joy rolled down when I saw this, have seen him grow up and put in the hard work in his game. Could not be more happy for you, Arjun. This is just the beginning, I wish you tons and ton of success in the days to come. Cherish your first wicket and enjoy the moment.”
