Jamaican police investigating the murder of Pakistan's cricket coach Bob Woolmer are looking for three Pakistani fans who were with the team in the days before he was killed.

"We are looking for them to eliminate them (from our inquiries)," Mark Shields, Deputy Police Commissioner, was quoted as saying by The Times.

The three were close to the players and appeared with them at press conferences and after matches, the daily said adding they are believed to have left Jamaica soon after Woolmer was found dead on March 18.

Woolmer, 58, was found dead in his hotel room, a day after the team's shock defeat to Ireland and the resulting elimination from the World Cup.

Jamaican police are not singling the three out for special attention, but are anxious to talk to them because they had such ready access to the Pakistan team before Woolmer's death, the Times reported on Tuesday.

The three fans are all Pakistanis and were identified by the paper as Hamid Malik, Jundie Khan and Efran Chaudhray.
