Bookies don’t expect Sachin to score century in his final Test match

Sachin Tendulkar failing to score big in the Kolkata Test meant a loss of around Rs 400 crore for bookies, but that has not deterred them from taking big bets on his 200th and final Test to be played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai from November 14-18.

Bookies are looking at a turnover of Rs 500 crore only from bets on how many runs Tendulkar scores. Bets on the match result could go up to Rs 900 crore.

The odds against Tendulkar scoring 25 runs are 22 paise a rupee, which means Rs 100 bet will fetch Rs 122 if he makes at least 25. While the odds for a Tendulkar half-century are 62 paise a rupee, the punters do not expect the Little Master to score a century or a double ton.

The odds for Tendulkar scoring a century are Rs 4.75 a rupee, so Rs 100 bet will fetch Rs 575. And, the odds for Tendulkar making a double century are Rs 12 a rupee, which means Rs 1,300 for a Rs 100 bet.

The bookies have given out odds only on Tendulkar's score in the first innings as the match in Kolkata ended in 3 days, with India batting just once. They expect the Wankhede Test to also finish in less than 5 days and India are favourites to win.
