CSK predicted XI against Kings XI Punjab: MS Dhoni, Harbhajan Singh to miss out
Chennai Super Kings take on the Kings XI Punjab in Mohali and barring workload management by the CSK camp, there won’t be too much intrigue about this encounter. CSK have confirmed a two finish, KXIP have already been ousted, and hence, this match will have formality written all over its face.
However, this is a chance for Chennai Super Kings to throw in a couple of new faces and test out their mettle. Dhoni, who has been struggling with his back, could sit out and regain full fitness before the playoffs. Also, since the game will be played on a flat pitch in Mohali, Harbhajan Singh will have to sit out.
Suresh Raina has found form, but then there is a worry over Ambati Rayudu and Kedar Jadhav. Will there be changes made to the batting order remains to be seen.
“The positive out of MS Dhoni being sick last week is that he was able to take some rest. I think he came back pretty well. My talking with him is that the back felt great. He was just a little bit weak from the flu he had. With a few more days now he should be fine,” Stephen Fleming, CSK head coach, said before the match.
Here is the predicted XI for the match against the Kings XI Punjab:
Shane Watson, Faf du Plessis, Suresh Raina (C), Ambati Rayudu, Kedar Jadhav, Dhruv Shorey, Dwayne Bravo, Ravindra Jadeja, Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, Imran Tahir
