Andhra Pradesh High Court on Monday dismissed a case against BCCI Chief Sharad Pawar and five others over alleged irregularities in the sale of tickets for the India-Australia one-dayer held here in October.
Justice GV Seetapathi dismissed the case filed by P Radhakrishna, a former Rajya Sabha member, on the grounds that there was no evidence to substantiate the charges.
The order came on the basis of a petition filed by Hyderabad Cricket Association challenging a lower court order on registering an FIR against Pawar, BCCI Secretary Niranjan Shah, HCA President and Andhra Pradesh Minister G Vinod, its Secretary Shivlal Yadav and two others.
The Third Metropolitan Magistrate court here, on November 2, directed police to register an FIR against the cricket administrators based on the petition filed by Radhakrishna.
The petitioner alleged only 15,000 out of the total 39,000 tickets were available to the public while the remaining were sold to VIPs, corporates and others.
The cricket body had misappropriated Rs 12 crore in the process, the petitioner alleged. Following the lower court's order, Uppal police had registered an FIR.

{{/usCountry}}Reacting to the High Court order, Vinod said he was extremely happy, as the truth has prevailed.
"From day one, I have been saying it's a false allegation and I say it now," he told PTI.
The HCA had contended that it had issued complementary passes to donors who had helped HCA for constructing the cricket stadium.
"The HCA has been conducting the matches for the last 75 years in a transparent manner. The case was filed to malign the image of the Association," Vinod said.
